A New Beginning: Day #34 – A sad, sad day

Today was a sad, sad day. It was painfully difficult, on the deepest levels. I ached to know how to fix today, how to make it right . . . But I’m left with emptiness.

So I turn to what I still believe: 💕

To my posterity: Did you know kiddos, that Mildred Tanner Pettit is your relative on your paternal line? She is the aunt to Grandma Ice Cream. Isn’t that cool?!? What is more cool is that she too was a mother and she too had gifts and talents that she dedicated to the Lord, and they not only bless our lives today, but I have hope that they blessed her own posterity as well.

When life gets to be more than I can handle, I am realizing more and more each day that I am not in control. The only part of life I can control is how I will handle myself. I love this song found in the scriptures . . .

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Psalms 46

There isn’t much that I can do to change what happened today, but I can give my heart to the Lord and see what comes tomorrow. Good night. May you too find peace in giving your woes to the Lord. For He is the only one who truly knows and understands us all.

“I tell you my troubles And you don’t run away. You’re not scared when I’m not okay. You’re holding the spaces. You’re showing me what grace is. That I’m stronger because of the pain.”

Happy Wednesday,
