A New Beginning: Day #42 – Parents go back to school too!

Wish us luck!

Paul and I are starting a 3 day parenting course today. We will be busy learning together, and that makes me happy. 😁

I’m grateful for this unique opportunity and look forward to finding those things that we both enjoy from this course . . . and then watching how little changes (or maybe some big) will bring us further joy and happiness in the future.

We also thoroughly enjoyed sharing our dinner with the Elders from our new ward last night. It felt great to do something that was once a routine part of our lives. The Elders are awesome! And we loved the heart felt, and timely, message that they shared 👇🏻

36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.

37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

Alma 37

Elder Murphy focused on our need to cry and counsel with the Lord. I realized that I haven’t been doing that as often as I should. I’m also not carrying my share of the weight of our burdens. So I really appreciated this tender mercy of receiving a gentle reminder that I can do better. That always helps!

Happy Thursday,

P.S. – Isn’t our missionary a cutie pie?!?!

First of all your missionary is a cutie pie!! Secondly Alma 37:37 had been my favorite scripture since I was in high school but it’s only been recently that I’ve really latched on to 36 as well! It’s such a good one and goes right along with 37! 🤪 They Booth are such good counsel!
